Weekly Call, 10-21-17

Good Morning Families,

This is Mr. Ehmann with your weekly call. We had a great week of learning this week and as we speak many of our Spanish students are enjoying the International Festival in Raleigh. Before announcements I want to thank all the students that supported our Cookie Dough fundraiser. We sold about $17000 worth of Cookie Dough this school year and could not have done that without your support.

We have a busy next couple of weeks at JCMS. Students will be Benchmark testing on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday morning so please help them remember to charge their laptops at home before coming to school. After school on Monday we will hold wrestling tryouts. On Tuesday, our MathCounts Team will meet in Mrs. Napier’s room until 4 pm. Also on Tuesday we have a home football vs Hunter’s Creek at 4 pm. On Wednesday of this week we will have an AVID visit for revalidation as a Demonstration School. Cookie Dough will be ready for pickup on Thursday from 12:30-2:30, and from 4-5:30 from the Health Room near the gym. On Thursday evening parents are invited out to our first Parent Link to Learning Night from 6-7 pm. We will be teaching parents about different student technology being used and also be reviewing our Title 1 Plan. We will serve pizza after the learning. On Friday of this week, we have FCA from 3:15 to 4:30 in the gym, and then a Halloween dance from 5-6:30 in the Cafeteria. Students can dress up for that dance.

Looking ahead to next week, grades for the first 9 weeks close on Tuesday, October 31st. Our last home football game is Wednesday, November 1st, at 6 pm at Northside HS, and our PBIS Celebration for the 1st 9 weeks will be Friday, November 3rd.

We hope that everyone has a fantastic weekend enjoying this beautiful weather and we look forward to seeing everyone back bright and early on Monday morning.
