UNCG - BS in Exercise and Sport Science with a major in Athletic Training and a minor in Sports Medicine, followed by a Teaching Certification through UNCW Watson School of Education.

Current NC Teaching Licensure in EC K-12, Middle School Mathematics, Middle School Science, Elementary Education K-6, Physical Education K-12, and Health Education K-12.

After a couple years as an Athletic Trainer and Chiropractic Assistant, I then entered teaching in 2000 through UNCW's Lateral Entry Program. I taught Physical Education and Health for 10 years.  During this time I also taught a "Fit and Well for Life" course through CCCC in the evenings for 4 years and worked as a camp counselor with the City of Jacksonville Recreation and Parks Department for 9 years.

After 10 years teaching Soccer, Basketball, Gymnastics, Dance, etc..., I then decided to get into Regular Education and worked as a TA for Queen's Creek Elementary School in Swansboro for one year. The next 5 years at QCE I spent as an EC Teacher in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade.  In 2015, I was hired as a Middle School EC teacher for JCMS and I'm loving every minute of it!

Originally hailing from just outside the City of Brotherly Love (Philly), I moved to Greensboro NC in 1997, leaving Temple University for UNCG.  My wife and I moved to Jacksonville in 2000.  Since than, my wife had decided to become a teacher as well and has been working at Carolina Forest Elementary for about 7 or 8 years now.  We have two children, both girls, and enjoy spending lots of time as a family at the many parks scattered about Jacksonville.

My parents live in Cape Carteret.  They moved here in 1996, when my dad got a transfer to Camp Lejeune from the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard which was closing down.
