My educational path has taken me from graduating from Bridgeport High School in Saginaw, Michigan to becoming a United States Marine.  Upon retirement, I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Middle School Education at The University of North Carolina at Wilmington.


Upon graduating from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington, NC, I participated in my internship at Dixon Middle School in Sneads Ferry, NC.  After the completion of my internship, I began my teaching experience at Dixon as a 7th grade Language Arts/Social Studies teacher.  I stayed on until the 2004-2005 school season.  Afterwards, I transferred to Jacksonville Commons Middle School.  I will be teaching Social Studies during the 2017-2018 school year.


I am originally from Saginaw, Michigan.  After graduation from Bridgeport High school, I enlisted into the United States Marine Corps and eventually retired after 20 years of honorable service.  My travels include being stationed in California, Okinawa, Japan, South Korea, the Philipine Islands, Cuba, with tours in Saudia Arabia and Kuwait.    Upon retirement I completed my degree program at The University of North Carolina at Wilmington, NC.  My Bachelor of Arts degree is in Middle School Education.  I am certified in both Language Arts and Social Studies.  I have coached every middle school sports program possible as well as high school baseball.  I currently am teaching 6th grade Social Studies.  I am also the Assistant Athletic Director here at Jacksonville Commons Middle School.  I have been selected for awards such as Teacher of the Year twice, (2007-2008) and (2012-2013), Teacher of the Quarter (2006-2007), and NC Area 2, Team of the Year member (2003-2004.)  I am an assistant football coach, boys basketball and track coach.
